We are busy giving the original Neale Post Office a facelift. For the past few weeks, significant overgrowth clearing has been completed, The walls have received a few coats of paint. A couple of new bricks have been cemented into place. Local artist designer David O Malley will be painting on murals to complete the works. We are looking forward to seeing it when its all done. We envisage that it will be a beautiful welcome to the village for traffic and people approaching from the north.

The Neale Heritage and Development Association would like to extend a BIG thanks to everyone who participated in our Interpreted Heritage Walk for National Heritage Week last in August. It was a hugely successful event.
Firstly to those who came, we hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks to Seren O Toole, our very own multiple National Athletics Champion for leading off our walk.
To Liam Heffron for enriching us all with his very knowledgeable insight into the lives led by Neale people and the possible reasons for monuments to have been built in 18th & 19th century Ireland.
Thanks Gerard O Malley, our photographer, Ronan Casey for his walk interpretation, Committee Chairman Paraic O Malley, Secretary, Peter Geraghty and Heritage Coordinator Joe Greaney for all the organising in the weeks leading up to the event and on the day.
We of course had loads of help on the day for your convenience and safety so big thanks to all of them too.
We extend a special thanks to:
Richard Mellotte, Mellottes Bar
Jamie Killeen, Pyramid Restaurant
Graham Casey, Neale Fresh Foods
for their support with supplying refreshments afterwards.
To the land owners, who very generously opened up their property for us on Friday evening so we could get close to all the monuments and really appreciate their scale and detail.
And finally thanks to our local talented musicians who came out to play Friday night in Mellottes Bar:
Michael O Malley
They brilliantly topped off what was a very memorable evening for our community.
